LANGUAGE DATA ANALYST (2026-1207)

McLean, VA – Full Time

RESPONSIBILITIES

Improves artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) tools and other applications in the client’s work environment, such as machine translation, speech or text recognition, input methods, data mining, and other areas of human-machine interactions related to languages. Tasks may include but are not limited to: 

• Train machine learning (ML) models and build natural language processing (NLP) pipelines. 

• Develop advanced search functions and textual analytics for big data collections in foreign languages. 

• Organize, manage, and enrich growing datasets in foreign languages. 

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly.

• Ability to pass an English grammar test.

• Working proficiency in one of the following languages: Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Kurdish, Russian, Spanish, Ukrainian.

• Ability to pass a translation test from the source language into English with a minimum of 2 on the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Scale.

• Basic functional ability with Python data science libraries, and the scripting knowledge to apply those skills to automate processes involving multilingual data. 

• Experience working on large data sets and machine learning models. 

• Intellectual curiosity: strong personal initiative to pursue learning opportunities and expand knowledge and skill set. 

• Excellent communication skills, especially the ability to explain complex technical issues to a nontechnical audience in graphical, verbal, and or written formats.

• Knowledge of core and emerging Human Language Technologies.

• Ability to adapt to new technologies and grasp new concepts quickly.

• Ability work both independently and as a team player.

• Proactive problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

• Demonstrated experience with multilingual data wrangling.

• Demonstrated experience loading and curating data in SQL or noSQL database systems.

• Knowledge of translation management processes, translation data formats (e.g., TMX, TBX, XLIFF, SRT, JSON) and conversion processes.

• Familiarity with or willingness to learn about computer-assisted translation tools and workflows.
